Usually, people throw away pieces of garments or clothing that have ink stains on them. Unfortunately, a lot of them don’t know that there is still a way to salvage them. With just a little work, you can have your clothing looking like new again. There are many things that you can use to remove ink and there are many ink stain removal tools that you can buy. It can be confusing figuring out what works and what doesn’t work, though.
Ink stains are usually a pain in the ass and the best thing to do is to act on it at once. Make sure to keep the stain from drying as this will make your job a lot harder. Once it dries, it is very difficult to get out. Fresh ink stains can actually be easily removed by simply washing them with soap and warm water. Make sure to check the fabric first if it will allow hot water to run on it as this may damage your fabric.
Many people swear by hairspray. Apply the hairspray on both sides of the fabric with ink stain then just rinse with hot to luke warm water. This does not always work, though. To increase your chances, better apply the hairspray the moment the ink stain happens. As the ink stain dries up, then the less chance it will be removed from your fabric.
Rubbing alcohol also works well with ink stain removal. Just put the fabric on a white towel and dab rubbing alcohol on it until you have taken the stain out. The stain will end up on the towel beneath it hopefully. After, you should then wash it with warm water to get rid of all the sediments. Hot water is best if the fabric can handle it.
When all else fails, you can get an ink stain out by using a very strong liquid called acetone. First try out the acetone in a not so obvious spot before applying it unto the stain. You need to know how the acetone will affect your fabric. Once you are sure that the acetone will not damage your fabric, just dab a little on the stain until it comes out. Always put a towel underneath it first to let the stain sip through it. The color will transfer to the towel. You can then wash the material in hot water. This should work if all of the above fails.
The next time you have an ink stain that you just cannot remove, follow the steps mentioned above and you will surely see the difference.Always remember to act on the stain the moment it is applied to your fabric. When you allow it to dry then it will be difficult to remove it as it might become permanent. If you do, it is likely not to come out at all no matter what you do. There you have it, simple ink stain removal tips for everyone.
