Several different systems make up a house’s plumbing system. By going without running water, a hot shower, or a flushing toilet, you can fully appreciate how important these are to daily life. It is rightly said that plumbing is a great way to improve the quality of life in your home.

Fresh water is delivered to a home through water supply pipes from the utility and is then distributed to sinks, toilets, washers, bathtubs, and related fixtures. The drain-waste-vent system carries away used water and wastes to sewers or septic tanks. Natural-gas plumbing delivers this fuel to gas-burning cook tops, furnaces, water heaters, and clothes dryers.

There are many kinds of water heaters available in the market. The newest technology is the solar water heater. If you;re in the market for a new solar water heater, you will need to do some research and shopping to find the right product for your needs. Before selecting a solar water heater, you’ll need consider your lifestyle, climate zone, budget, and environmental impact goals.

Lifestyle has a major impact on how effective your domestic solar water heater will be. If you have a large family and a great demand for hot water, especially during the day, an active system with a larger collector will probably fit your family’s needs. On the other hand if your household is only one or two people and activities like laundry are infrequent, a smaller (passive) system might be better.

In hot areas, a small water heater is sufficient to generate large amount of water where as in colder areas, you might require an active system with a big collector to satisfy your needs.

If the temperature dips below freezing in your area then you must have a freeze valve installed on your system. A freeze valve will keep your system from freezing solid and cracking. At low temperature, these system bleed enough water out of the system to circulate relatively warm fresh water.

Solar heated domestic water does not have to be expensive. Their initial cost can be high but they have a much faster return on investment and are much more affordable. Before shopping, be sure to get exact estimates from your plumbing contractor.

You would see a big difference in your electricity and gas bills after having installed a solar water heater at your place. As it is an economical and an environment friendly option, you can give a thought to have your water heaters replace by a solar water heater systems.
