This Christmas, many children will go to bed with high expectations waiting for Christmas day to arrive and for the magical moment when they see the presents that Santa Clause brought to their house. Make the moment even more special for your younger children with mysterious evidence that Santa actually came by their house! You might wonder how to do it and what does it take to make it as realistic as possible. Here are some great ideas of how to bring the magic of Santa Clause to your children this Christmas.
A good place to start is with the traditional approaches. One of them is to have your children place a glass of milk and some cookies out for Santa Clause in a prominent place near the Christmas tree. Have your kids write a note or create a homemade card to thank Santa for coming and to wish him a Merry Christmas. To add to the fun have them make their own Christmas cookies and customize them with icing or sprinkles. Another great Alternative is to make gingerbread houses. Of course, since you will be the likely person that has to make them “disappear” make them of a moderate size.
Another traditional approach is to have Dad play Santa at night. Let the kids “catch” Santa in the act of delivering the presents to give them a magical Christmas Eve encounter with Old Saint Nick. However, be warned this will only work a couple of times. Also make sure that the kids are old enough to care to be good for Santa so that they will listen to you when you tell them that they can’t open their presents until the morning. You can say something like if naughty boys and girls open their gifts before morning the magic of Christmas will disappear along with their presents. Make sure also to have it all planned out with your entry and exit. Try to keep it simple that way there will be no opportunity to get caught.
If you live in home that doesn’t have a chimney such as an apartment you can purchase a “magic” key this is an interesting concept because it helps you explain to your kids why Santa can still deliver presents if there isn’t a chimney for him to slide down. You can that the key is special and that when he uses his Christmas magic the key unlocks the door and allows him to slip in with the presents and slip out when he is done.
Add more excitement with an authentic letter from Santa. Some websites have a service where they will make a letter from the Jolly old Elf himself specially addressed to your Child. You can customize them for any occasion. It can be a letter for a child going through a tough time or one experiencing their first Christmas. You can have them framed as special mementos of this time of year that will last for years to come.
Another great option is a call from Santa. You can do it yourself or use a service but it will help give you cover if you are right there with your kids when He comes calling to wish your kids a merry Christmas. Of course when doing anything extra like this, be careful of your children’s feelings.
