Scented candles can change the mood of a room. That beautiful scent floating in the air is wonderful. If you could learn how to make scented candles yourself you could enjoy them without having to spend a lot of money.

You might be thinking it would be much too complicated to make them yourself. Well, nothing is further from the truth! Almost anyone can learn how to make scented candles. It is actually very easy.

All the supplies you need are readily available and very inexpensive. Once you learn how to make scented candles you will find that it is a lot of fun. Making them yourself creates a feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment. Plus you will save a lot of money because high quality scented candles in the store are not cheap!

When you begin, you need to make sure that you have the best mold for your candles, and that you’ve found a mold that you want for your candles. Pillar molds or more basic shapes are good to start with, so you aren’t starting with something too complicated.

Now you are ready to get started. Make sure you choose a good mold. If you are just starting out something simple would be best. Pillar molds tend to work well.

Get out your wax and melting pot. A double boiler is ideal for melting the wax because the wax doesn’t directly touch the heat source. The wax will get very hot so be careful. You don’t want to burn your fingers!

After you have the wax melted you can stir in the fragrance and color. Go easy on the fragrance. If you add too much the candle won’t burn properly.

Now you can pour the wax into the mold and let it cool. Make sure and let it cool completely. Then you can remove the candle and you are done. This is a very quick and simple lesson but as you can see, it is not difficult. You can learn how to make scented candles and the more you do it the better you will get!
