Using Interior Design Art To Make Your House Uniquely Your Own
Once you purchase a home, it effectively becomes a blank canvas waiting for your personal tastes and touch to transform it into a space that is genuinely your own. You take great attention in selecting carpets, pieces of furniture, and supplemental items, and you should take the same degree of care when selecting your interior design art. You need to find items that not only appeal to you, but which will also be fulfilling for visitors whom you will bring into your house. You want to generate a statement that lets you feel good about your house while, simultaneously, you are buying the nucleus for your own personal art collection. Decorating with art can make a big difference in your home.
Whether you choose art prints from a nearby gallery or perhaps original artwork on canvas, you will be developing a special feeling in your home that will be one of a kind as only you can make it. Given the same home and furniture, it is unlikely that any two people would choose the same art work to adorn it. It is one of the ways we all show our individuality. The thing is that there is no right or wrong with regards to taste in art. If you hire an interior designer to decorate for you, your house might end up expressing his or her choices instead of your own. That is why it is essential to place your own imprint on the walls of your home.
One of the most wonderful things about art is that it’s available in so many variations. When visitors enter your house, they might notice your home furniture as they sit down in it, and then their eyes start to look on the art you have hanging on your walls. Art is actually a great conversation starter, because all people have an opinion. Remember that not everyone’s opinion will match your own, because everyone has different tastes. Therefore, do not take it to heart if a guest does not like a work of art that you truly love.
When art is chosen carefully, it brings a house together in a cohesive whole. It transforms the plain and blas? straight into something quietly magnificent and allows you to feel at home with your living space and happy about how it appears. It is a good idea to begin with a few outstanding interior design art items, a nucleus collection which you may then add to over the years.
Imagine Your Fantasy Hot Tub Cover Design
We spend a lot of time searching the Internet for ideas that could make this world a better place. Or at least a more interesting place. Here is one of those. We noticed how this Canadian spa covers website announced that “Best of all, all covers that we sell come advertising-free. We know that you don’t want your backyard to be a billboard for a spa-cover or jacuzzi-cover manufacturer.” Du-uh! So we dump the ads and we are left with a lovely blank spa cover. Too tempting. Too tempting. Let’s see what fantasy hot tub cover ideas we can put on there to replace the logo billboard.
A polar bear. This is the ideal design for Canada, in fact. The polar bear is a symbol of strength, able to rip human flesh from the bone in just a few seconds flat, one of the strongest animals in the world. And the polar bear is a symbol of Canada’s frigid Arctic weather. What hardy Canadian doesn’t fancy himself the very image of strength and endurance in the face of a cold Canadian winter’s deep freeze? Especially while relaxing in the comfort of a backyard hot tub?
Mario and Luigi. Your favourite video game hero could come to life right on your hot tub cover. This is the ideal design for gamers and geeks who know better than to bring electrical devices into their hot tubs with them, yet don’t ever want to be parted from their idols. If your hot tub is round, you might as well make it Pacman. He’ll fit just perfectly. You can check out the various colours and shapes of hot tub covers to see which one fits your hot tub.
Chocolates. Pictures of chocolate in all shapes and sizes, with all sorts of decorations. Milk chocolate. Dark chocolate. White chocolate. Chocolate with nuts and jam and cream and liqueurs. And the best part? These chocolates won’t melt in the sun.
And for some reason, we must add pink flamingos. Not because we think they are particularly special or creative, but because there are always pink flamingo people in every crowd, and we would not want to disappoint them.
A black hole. OK, so we cheated here. A black hole is basically just black. There really is no work or effort involved. You just order a black hot tub cover and tell everyone it’s a black hole. See, you can be creative and lazy at the same time.
Poseidon. Ruler of the water. Put his logo on your hot tub cover to make your spa his seat of power in your world. You might never own a palace. You might never rule an empire, but with his logo affixed to your hot tub cover, you have Poseidon’s thrown for a spa. Ruler over all the water in your backyard.
A flower garden. This is one of the best ideas, because it can blend in so well with the rest of your landscaping that you have worked so hard to maintain. In fact, there are some definite advantages to printing flower images on your hot tub cover:
1. It makes great camouflage. “Hot tub? What hot tub? I don’t see any hot tub – do you see a hot tub?”
2. You can “grow” species that would not normally survive in your climate…especially in the harsh climate of Canada.
3. It’s very colourful.
4. You can have a seamless flower garden, where the hot tub blends in harmoniously without disturbing the natural flow of the garden.
Those are just a few of our fantasy hot tub cover ideas. But first you’ll need a hot tub, and then you will need to build a hot tub cover. But isn’t it worth getting a hot tub and a cover just to create such marvellous works of art in your backyard? In fact, why not get a couple hot tubs. Or even three? Why not half a dozen? You might become world famous for The International Hot Tub Cover Art Gallery.
But we’ve only shared a few ideas with you. I am sure you can come up with some fascinating ideas of your own. Please share them with us. We are eager to hear what your fantast hot tub cover would look like.
For Canon’s Range Of Power Shot Cameras
Canon power shot cameras are a great buy if you are in the market for a new camera. Most models have glorious picture definition especially for a compact camera that you can carry with you. You can buy models that are light weight and very easy to use. The prices are reasonable when you think about the quality of pictures you get.
There are many different models available. Some might have different features that you are going to need to take a look at before making a purchase to be sure you are getting what you want. The model may make a contribution in the amount of megapixels and memory.
The power shot is essentially a sequence of cameras produced by Canon. Features vary greatly by model. A number of these are water evidence while others could be more light weight. Most of the cameras in this series have features to allow you to take quality photographs even in dim lighting. If you’ve got an idea of what you need then you’ll find the model you need simply.
Most models are awfully basic. You simply point and click. These are great even for amateurs to take great footage. They’re so easy to use and require very little to take the footage you want. This may be a good first camera for a younger person also.
This line also has a semi-professional camera. This can require a bit more effort on your part and you might need to know a little more about cameras to take the pictures you want. These would possibly not be what you’re looking for if you’re an off-the-cuff user who only wants to take family footage and footage of family holidays.
Canon power shot cameras vary in price according to the model you select. These can be purchased from most retail shops or on the web.

Make Article Writing Easier
Many see writing articles as a nuisance. I happen to disagree with this belief. I think that article writing can be one of the most fun and rewarding activities there is.
Some people simply don’t know what to write about and their mind draws a blank when they’re called to the task. I know the frustrations about this, but there are ways around it.
While it always requires a bit of hard work, the process of writing articles can be made much easier by applying a few basic rules. Keep some of the things I’m about to discuss in mind and you’ll do well.
If you map out the purpose of your article in advance, as opposed to simply writing what comes to mind, things will be easier. The best way for me to do this is to think of a subject, then basing my article around a list.
If you don’t like the idea of writing lists, or simply prefer another means as well, tell stories. Everyone has their own experiences to draw from, and personalizing an article in this regard will allow you to connect with your readers.
If I have a number of articles to churn out in one sitting, I’ll usually try to set short term goals. I’ll race against the clock in the hopes of beating the time I’ve allocated to the task. This keeps me focused with an end in sight.
I like to treat myself to little rewards when I’m done writing for the day. If I know that I have to write five articles in one sitting, I’ll take myself out for ice cream when I’m done, or I’ll take a break from my work to watch my favorite TV show.
Lastly, I’d recommend that you work to improve your typing speed and skills. This will go a very long way toward improving your overall efficiency. In typing quickly, I find that I can write an article in half the time that most people can.
This writer blogs about many other areas of interest, including air conditioner covers and portable air conditioning units.
Technics Goes Digital With New SL-DZ1200 Turntable
For the past thirty years, Technics has been regarded as the unchallenged king of turntables thanks to the stella SL-1200 model. Since its release, it has become the most popular and greatest selling turntable of all time with few genuine updates to the original design.
That’s all set to change as Technics unveils it SL-DZ1200, a direct drive turntable that has gone completely digital. This model is the first of its kind to offer MP3 playback and the ability to play CD’s instead of LP’s. DJ’s worldwide are crying foul at this — nothing can match the power and sound of a vinyl turntable, right? MP3 files are in essence encoded files, which naturally result in lower sound quality than the big records.
But is the sound quality horrible, or can a DJ ignore it and still expect to be able to play professionally with the SL-DZ1200? Isn’t carrying a memory card in your pocket easier than dragging boxes and boxes of LP’s to each show?
So Much Potential And Features For Modern DJ’s
The best part about the SL-DZ1200 is that it has many features that, when used properly, can help deliver a dynamite stage performance. CD playback and MP3 file compatibility makes sense — if not now, then it’ll be incorporated later; there’s no way to avoid the change that’s coming. Technics has built the SL-DZ1200 to look, feel, and sound like the original SL-1200.
You can also save loops into sample banks and recall them on the fly, even play them simultaneously. Save them long term by loading them onto an SD card so you can use them at your next gig. There’s also a series of cues you can save and recall when you want, freewheeling capabilities and a reverse switch. Put all this stuff together and you’ve got a machine perfect for a night on the town.
The Down Side
This is where the screaming will begin. The first issue people have with the SL-DZ1200 is that there is some lagging when loading CD’s. I’ve heard anywhere from eight to thirty seconds, which can be troublesome for a beginning DJ. That being said, as a DJ you should be able to work the crowd with minimal effort for thirty seconds. If not, then this is going to cause some headaches if you don’t prepare for it.
Another problem is that the vinyl simulation on this turntable simply isn’t good enough to pass for an authentic SL-1200. Any purist could tell the difference, because vinyl is the only thing that sounds like vinyl, and digital can’t pull off the warmth of a good LP. There’s still no true alternative to the beauty of vinyl.
There is also a substantial loss in audio quality if you don’t take care to rip your songs at high bit rates. Still, even at the higher bit rates, MP3 songs don’t sound as full or vibrant as the tunes coming straight off the vinyl.
All these pros and cons are fine, but the biggest problem you’re going to have with this turntable is its price. Technics lists this monstrosity at $1,199.95 — a heck of a lot of money to throw away on a model that ultimately does not sound as good as the original SL-1200.
Final Thoughts: Mixed Emotions
Though Technics’ latest has a lot of features that work well and good sound overall, there are too many problems to warrant spending the kind of cash needed to buy this sucker. You can play with the crowd for thirty seconds to allow your CD to spin up to speed, you can break out the scratching and dump as many files as you want on your SD card, but ultimately vinyl sounds like vinyl, and the SL-DZ1200 is digital, not vinyl.
The functionality is here, though; no other turntable on the market will provide as many great features as the SL-DZ1200.
Technics is for sure the most popular set of record turntables in the world thanks to its groundbreaking SL-1200 model released thirty years ago. Pick one of these turntables up today and try your hand at it, and also get a pair of Technics headphones while you’re at it so you can practice late into the night.
