Astounding Brain Magic
Here’s a simple trick that will give you a powerful aura of amazing psychic ability. Because this trick is based purely on mathematics, it always works. The more you can talk this trick up before and after, the better. This works especially well at parties, when you choose someone to be the “mark,” and everybody else watches.
Here’s the simple caper. I’ll ask you to do the same things you’ll ask the folks your playing the hoax on to do, so you can witness how it works. First, think of a digit between one and ten. Next, take that number, and multiply it by nine. If it’s a two digit number, add them together. Now take off five. Got it?
Now you take the number and match it with the corresponding letter of the alphabet, with A=1, B=2, etc. Got it? Brilliant. Now think of a nation in Europe that starts with that letter. Got it? Ok, now go onward in the alphabet one letter. Got it? Now consider of a circus animal that begins with that letter. OK? What tint is that animal? OK, so now, you’re most likely thinking of a gray elephant from Denmark, right?
This works since any number you start off with, you’ll constantly end up with four. Try this with all the numbers from one through ten and you’ll see. As long as you specific a state from Europe, most people will pick Denmark. And as long as you go up one more letter (E), most people will settle on elephant, and then unsurprisingly gray.
There are quite a few ways to expose this trick. They best way is to in fact write “Gray Elephant From Denmark” on a piece of paper, fold it up, and bestow it to the person you are playing the trick on. Then have them tell you their response, and have them take out the folded up piece of paper out of their pocket and read it out loud.
This works magnificent at parties when they are a few people watching. Unless the individual knows this trick, and is knowingly trying to throw you off, they will almost always end up with a gray elephant from Denmark. This works notably well with kids, and have them as a group come up with the country, and the animal, etc., before having them open up the magic sheet of paper. Have fun with this.

The Overwhelming Psychic Mind Invasion Trick
This is a fantastic mentalist trick where you can easily and powerfully demonstrate your ability to mentally project simple thoughts into the mind of your subject. This illusion uses a simple deck of cards, and some set up beforehand, as well as some decent patter. Since the patter is only used for mental misdirection, you can talk about any old thing and it will work fantastically.
Here’s how the stunt will come across to your soon to be extremely overwhelmed test subject. You tell them you have a deck of cards, and you will get each card off the top, and deliberate on the color, red or black. Then you will propel the color into their brain, and they will automatically decide the right color. You carefully go through the whole deck, projecting either black or red into their head.
When you are finished, you will possess two stacks of cards. Every time they guess red, you put the cards to the left, and every time they guess black, you put the cards to the right. You clarify to them that according to the laws of statistics, two or three in a row is accidental chance, but more than five or six in a row is verification of something deeper, something mysterious. You ask them to pick which to check first, black or red. Then pick up whichever stack is that color, and ask them how many cards in a row would satisfy them of your powers. Usually they’ll say somewhere between five and ten.
You then proceed to flip ten cards over, all the exact color that they predicted. You have established your capacity to impressively project your thoughts into their brain, and they will never look at you the same way again.
Here’s how to do the trick. Earlier, you’ll need to isolated out all the red and black cards, put them into the deck. So you’ll have 26 black cards on top of 26 red cards. When you are “projecting” the card color into their brain, you’ll go through all the black cards, and all of the red cards. Since they’ll likely choose haphazardly between black and red, after the first half the trick is over, you’ll have two stacks, with black on top of red, on either side.
They, of course, will believe one stack is entirely black, and one stack is entirely red. So when you ask them which stack they’d like to look at first, just keep in mind which color is on top. If they pick out red, display them ten cards in a row from the bottom, and if they choose black, display them ten cards in a row from the top. You’ll need to be chatting when you pick up the specific stack, and turn it over in your hands a couple times to keep their concentration off which side of the stack you pull the cards from. This trick always amazes them, and will convince any skeptic beyond a shadow of a doubt of your clairvoyant projection abilities. Have fun.

Quickly And Certainly Build Rapport With Any Audience
This is a great set of skills that can give you a quick and powerful connection with any audience. They are based on simple psychology, but will make it appear as though you have powerful psychic skills. These are easy to learn, and you can go out and put them into practice as soon as you finish reading this article.
Any performer knows that sincerity is very eminent when doing a string of mentalist tricks. One blunder and you’re cover is blown, and they’ll be watching you with a much closer eye. When folks witness a magic act, mainly if they’d paid money, they want to be dazzled and entertained. They don’t want to have to make believe that you are magic. They want to trust you are magic.
A great way to set yourself up as an specialist in their minds is through some seemingly awesome supernatural mind reading. But through some basic eye accessing cues, you can regularly tell what kinds of thoughts they are wondering. When you match up your “chatter” with the kinds of thoughts they are thinking, your standing, and their pleasure, will skyrocket.
Here are the broad rules. When people look up, either up and to the right, or up and to the left, they are generally thinking visually. They are literally seeing movies in their minds. When individuals are looking side to side, they are usually thinking of sounds, either voices, songs, or music. When people look down, either down and to the right, or down and to the left, they are normally thinking of “feeling” thoughts.
A great way to integrate this into your act is to pick a special person, and then build up a short discussion with them. As you pay attention to their eyes, and gain an understanding into their thoughts, you can certainly match your words to their type of thinking. Effortlessly put, speak in picture words (look, see, notice, etc.) when they are looking up, and converse in sound words (hear, listen, music, etc.) when they are looking side to side. People seldom think in terms of feelings when they are out watching a show. It is more of a visual and auditory experience.
While these guidelines are unbelievably basic, and general, they will go a great deal in helping you gain a enormous amount of rapport in a moderately small amount of time with any audience, or even with a one on one encounter when you are demonstrating street magic. These abilities can even be used in a non-magic setting, like on a date or inside a relationship, but I’ll leave that up to you.

The Amazing Three Inseparable Jacks
This is a fantastic up close card trick that requires about two minutes of preparation. After that it works itself, so much that you can even have a volunteer do all the work. By the time you finish reading this, you’ll know exactly how to do this trick so you can go out and practice on your friends. And if you can tell a good story along with this trick, so much the better.
Here’s how the trick will look to your contacts. You start out with three Jacks spread out across a table. You make up some elongated fable about how they are best associates, and always discover each other. Then exaggerate about how they were one way or another estranged. Put one Jack on top of deck, one someplace in the center, and one on the bottom. Remember to explain that Jacks of magical powers of reunion.
Then ask your volunteer to cut the deck once. After they cut the deck, tell some more tales about how the Jacks always find each other no matter what happens. Then turn the deck over, and spread out the cards. Someplace in the middle, the three Jacks will be together once again, dramatic the crowd.
Here’s the secret. Before you begin, make sure to leave one Jack on top of the deck. That way, when you put one Jack on top, they’ll really be two Jacks on top of the deck. And when you put one Jack on the bottom, and your volunteer cuts the deck, they’ll inevitably be putting one Jack on top of two, so they will always be someplace in the deck.
Make sure when you do this to keep the focus on your fable, and use broad hand gestures and so on. Because the Jacks they find in the middle of the deck won’t be the same Jacks that were laid at the beginning of the trick. But if you only lay them out long enough to show everyone that there are indeed three Jacks, and keep on with your story for a couple of minutes after you place them in the deck, they will most likely quickly stop thinking about the accurate suits.
Of course, with some skillful hand maneuvers you can do this ploy again, but you run the risk of being detected, as they’ll be watching your hands much more directly. I’ve only been able to do this two or three times in a row before my viewers figured out what was going on. However, this is a great trick to do if you’ve got a couple supplementary tricks up your sleeve, so to speak. Have fun.

The Unbelievable Supernatural Card Deception
If you love to do up close magic, but can’t be bothered with learning all kinds of technical sleight of hand maneuvers, then you’ve come to the right place. This a completely mathematically based self working trick, which means anybody can do it. But since it seems to be mysterious, you can play it off like you’ve got powerful psychic abilities, and impress loads of people with this simple trick. The more you talk this trick up, the better.
Here’s how the deception looks like to your soon so be fascinated audience. You tell them that you have recently discovered some dominant skills of psychic projection. You can place thoughts secretly in their mind. Of course, they don’t trust you, and they ask for a exhibition, to which you fortuitously oblige.
You pull out a normal deck of cards, and open up the cards so that only you can see the cards. You spend a substantial amount of psychic power looking at the cards, and looking at your buddy. Then you put the cards back into a ordinary stack, and tell the person to pick any two cards, without naming the suit. Like ace, and queen, or ten and three, for example.
Once they choose their two cards, you look through the deck, and show them that the two cards they chose are right next to each other. They will be amazed, and likely ask you to do this trick again. You go through the motions of looking at the cards, and projecting the numbers into their heads. Once again they choose two cards, and once again you show them their two cards are right next to each other in the deck.
The rationale this always works is due to absolute mathematical probability. Since they aren’t naming the suit of the card, and only the number, there is about a ninety percent likelihood that any two cards they pick will be next to each other, since when they choose two cards, their in fact choosing eight (two cards of four suits each). And just pure mathematics, the probability of any two of any eight cards in a deck being next to each other is about ninety percent.
Of course, the more you talk this trick up, the better. The more you act as if to project thoughts into their mind, and go through the motions of doing painful psychic projection the better. If you want you can make a kindly wager with them that you can accurately “project” the cards into to their head before the trick. Have fun with this.
