Cool Dinner Party Trick – Make Ice Cream In A Plastic Bag
I love to make Ice Cream. All sorts and every type of method. This method makes just one serving, but it’s really great especially if you get kids involved. I have also done this at a dinner party, getting my guests all making their own serving. Very cool. (You don’t know my friends). It’s also great if you are babysitting some kids and don’t know what to do with them. They really love this.
What you need for this.
Milk about half a cup, cream is ok too, but I prefer to use milk, keeps it healthier.
1 tablespoon of sugar.
Vanilla flavoring or extract, (1/4 teaspoon) some cocoa powder, or some chocolate syrup. It’s up to you which flavoring you want.
Lots of ice, if you don’t have enough you can buy it cheaply in any store or just fill up your ice trays or ice bags in advance.
Salt. Rock salt is best, this can be bought. However you can also use household table salt.
2 plastic bags. I quart sized and 1 gallon sized. Remember you can improvise with this. It’s just a rough guide.
Music that you can shake and move your butt to. Or just your kids favorite music.
Ok You’re good to go now.
Mix the milk, flavoring and sugar all together in a bowl. That was easy. Once mixed put in the smaller bag and seal tightly, so that it cannot escape.
Take your ice out of the freezer, you will probably need about 2 quarts, and place in the bigger bag with the salt. The ice and salt should fill about half of the big bag.
Put the small bag into the big bag. Important: Make sure the two bags are sealed really well. Use tape if you need to. The ingredients of both bags must not mix or meet.
Now put on that music good and loud, and get moving around. Dance, shake and massage that mixture. Do this for about 10 or 15 minutes and magically your mix will have turned to ice cream. So now all you have to do is eat and enjoy.
