I lately refurnished my home & let me tell you, it was messy. Particularly the plumbing. I don't care what anybody says - it's supposed to be simple work & simple, but it simply is not half as easy as it is supposed to be. When we applied it with American-standard taps and American standard toilets, we were plagued by all sorts of difficulties. The American-standard faucets didn't seem to fit the piping we had at the start, & we were continually beset by leaks which threatened to ruin the floor. The American standard toilets wouldn't set on the floor properly, & so we needed to use the bath-room sitting side-ways for a whole week, & cling to the shower curtains for support. I'll tell you, trying to install our American standard taps & American standard toilets gave us an American-standard mess.

It wasn't truly about the American-standard faucets and American standard toilets, but more about the lay-out of the pipes. They were aged pipes, and we even suspected there might be lead solder in them, which is a frightening thought. The brand-new pipes were of a varying size which was more correctly callibrated to the American standard faucets & American-standard toilets, but they wouldn't properly fit in the holes made for the old pipes. So we had the issue of the American-standard faucets, toilet, tub, and other fixtures not fitting exactly with the plumbing which, no matter how much we tried to jury rig it, brought on leaks. Our fabric shower curtains were sitting in moisture on the floor.

Of course, even with-out the problems with the American standard faucets, we would have truly had lots of difficulty. American standard faucet or not, you truly can not do any-thing about the hard water if you reside in a rural community like ours without installing expensive & difficult to operate, water softening system. Before we did that, our shower curtains were crunchy & stiff as if we had starched them. & American-standard faucets, and American standard toilets & tubs do nothing for you if your water-pressure is abyssmal, which believe me, ours is. So what are worthy of taken nothing more than a week or maybe 2 ended up taking us months & months and while we struggled to install our American standard faucets, the bills kept piling up. Installing our American-standard plumbing was a night-mare, and ended up costing us significantly more than it would have to simply hire some-one to do it. Next time, if God forbid there is a next time, we're hiring someone to fix our American standard taps & plumbing.
